On December 27 (Wed), 2015, a symposium entitled “A New Urban Space Created by Smart, Multi-modal Mobility” was held by Yokohama National University TMS Satellite, a satellite institution at the Center for Co-Evolutional Social Systems (CESS).
Yokohama National University is working on redesigning the traffic system and urban space with the goal to resolve various issues involving people’s movements, based on the idea to progress toward “smart & multi-modal mobility (a cost-efficient, Eco-friendly transportation method which can be used by anyone)”.

In this symposium, Yokohama National University COI Satellite gave an activity report, and we had a lively discussion on how the city and transportation should be in the future, and the theory and technology that can support those ideas.
In addition, Mr. Takashi Hasegawa, Director General for Policy Coordination at the Yokohama City Policy Bureau shared encouraging comments on the activities of Yokohama National University COI Satellite.
