An organic EL display on the external surface of a car for the validation test of car sharing.
The Information Device Unit of CESS and a satellite of Yokohama National University have been working together for the validation test of car sharing, in which an organic EL display is mounted on the external surface of a car to evaluate functionality and efficiency as an information display device connecting a car and a city.

When the engine is started accumulated mileage(*1) at the end of the previous drive is displayed. When the engine is stopped 4 digit numbers(N code) are displayed indicating the present position(**2). Through the validation test above we evaluate the functionality of the OLED such as visibility and durability. Also we study how the information can change minds and actions of the people.

We will develop applications of the organic EL as an interface of traffic systems and try to create new display and space for the public in the public vehicles and hub spaces where people gather.
