Within the Council’s cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) “Automated Driving for Universal Services,” a Citizens’ Dialogue “Transportation in the Suburbs based on Developments in Yokohama City -Social Implementation of Automated Driving” was held online. In a panel discussion during the dialogue, the Center’s Mobility Group Leader Ryo Ariyoshi (Yokohama National University specially appointed associate professor) and former leader Fumihiko Nakamura (The University of Tokyo Graduate School specially appointed associate professor) went on stage, and generously discussed the use of MaaS and local transportation, giving the example of “TOMIOCART,” the small share-ride transportation service being tested in the Tomioka area in Kanazawa ward, Yokohama City.
