"3rd Asian Workshop on Smart Sensor Systems" was held on March 26th(Thu.), 27th(Fri.), 28th(Sat.), 2015 at Karatsu Royal Hotel (Karatsu, Saga, Japan). About 50 IT and sensor technology researchers and developers attended from Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore, and they shared their research experiences.

In the sessions, they presented experimental results of various IT technologies (including sensor and network technology) applied on traffic, energy, healthcare, agricultural fields and participant actively exchanged their ideas and questions from various aspects.

Throughout the workshop, participants learned not only technical challenges, but also difficulties of technology transfer under different social structures and the associated social issues. They shared importance of IT technology in the future society and standardization for global development.
