On Tuesday, January 27th, 2015, “The Fukuoka Regional Strategy Forum 2015” was held at Acros Fukuoka (Fukuoka City), hosted by the Fukuoka Directive Council (FDC). A panel discussion held in this forum was entitled “The growth of Fukuoka Metropolitan Area, a leader in Kyushu ~The Role of Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration Platforms~”. Based on specific examples of projects undertaken by the government, economic associations, and university projects, the panelists discussed the possibility of maximizing results and functions required from industry-academia-government-private sector collaboration. From the COI of Kyushu University, Mr. Korehisa, a long time project leader, gave a presentation on the updates including the activities being promoted by the Industry-Government- Academia and current challenges.
