Site visit by the Saga Prefecture Karatsu-Higashi Junior High School

Activity Report

On Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015, we accepted 19 students from Saga Prefectural Karatsu Higashi Junior High School to visit the site of Research Facilities for Co-Evolutional Social Systems. The school is currently restructuring its curriculum to enhance the advantages of a combined junior and senior high school. The school wanted to encourage students to start thinking about colleges and future careers, so that they can target their studies more precisely.

COI Leader Korehisa expounded on the efforts at Kyushu University COI. Students then asked him questions such as “Why did you want to study urban OS?” and “What is attractive about urban OS?” After that, students toured the facility. They seemed to be interested in unique equipment such as B-Sen (Big Sensor Box), organic EL study room, and industrial mathematics calculator.

It was our pleasure to provide an experience that may help students consider future paths. We will continue to be involve in sharing information to people about our efforts at Kyushu University COI and the Research Facilities for Co-Evolutional Social Systems.
