The Opening Ceremony for the research facility for the Co-evolutional Social Systems.

Activity Report

On Monday, June 22nd, 2015, we held an opening ceremony of the Research Facilities for Co-Evolutional Social Systems, which will be the core facility of Center for Co-Evolutional Social Systems. At the ceremony, we had approx. 150 in attendance including guests and staff to celebrate the completion of the facility that will serve as the hub for industry-university-government collaborations.

This facility was adopted in the "International Science Innovation Center Plan" with the theme of "achieving co-evolutionary social systems for a sustainable development of diversity," and was built with the grant of "the Science & Technology promotion facility funding for the collaboration among local industry, academia and government". Constructed on a lot of 2,907 square meters and with the total surface area of 7,742 square meters, it is a three-story building of reinforced concrete, with each research room equipped with various research equipment.

The opening event of the ceremony included a horn and trombone performance by the Kyushu University Philharmonic Orchestra. Then opening comments were each given by President Kubo and our three guests, Vice Governor Ebii (Fukuoka Prefecture), Deputy Director General Kishimoto of Science and Technology Policy Bureau (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), and Visionary Leader Sumikawa. Then a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the facility’s front entrance, and participants gave a big round of applause.

A tour of the facility followed, and participants viewed the facility and its research equipment.

The Center for Co-Evolutional Social Systems will continue to collaborate with relevant internal/external organizations in activities from basic to applied research toward the goal of urban OS development.
