“JST Fair 2015” was held at Tokyo Big Sight on August 27th and 28th, 2015. We participated with lectures and exhibited posters detailing efforts and activities at Kyushu University COI. This event presented study results of over 200 research developments toward the goal of “creating future industries” initiated by JST, as well as the introduction of research at each center (18 centers) for the COI program launched in 2013.

On the first day of the event, a program with the theme "COI Symposium: Change of People. Change of Society. Change of Future. ” and lectures were given regarding efforts made by each COI program. Many guests visited the Kyushu University COI booth, and unit members used posters and videos to give information on our current projects, foreseeable challenges, and our goal concept of the future.
Those who visited our booth gave feedback like “this-or-that service would be convenient!” and questions like “how will this challenge be resolved?” Interacting with citizens who were interested in our activities at Kyushu University COI, and hearing their views, we gained valuable information that will benefit in the future urban OS development. In addition, Mr. Atsushi Koga, member of the House of Representatives came to our booth, and we gave him details on Kyushu University COI’s verification tests in Fukuoka City and our future projects.

By communicating our activities and receiving feedback from many people through various events, we will continue making efforts toward practical implementation of urban OS.
